Welcome to AUMA. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our language learning application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name.

Learning Progress: We store your lesson progress, vocabulary mastery, XP, streaks, and achievements to provide a personalized learning experience.

Device Information: We may collect device identifiers for analytics and to improve app performance.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the app to improve our services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain our language learning services
  • Sync your progress across devices
  • Send you learning reminders and notifications (with your permission)
  • Improve and personalize your learning experience
  • Process subscription payments
  • Communicate with you about updates and promotions

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Learning progress is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our secure cloud servers when you create an account. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

RevenueCat: For subscription management and payment processing

OpenAI: For AI-powered language assistance features

ElevenLabs: For text-to-speech pronunciation

These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of your data.

5. Community Features

Voice Messages: If you use our community voice messaging feature, your voice recordings are stored temporarily to enable communication with other learners. You can delete your messages at any time.

Leaderboards: Your display name, level, and XP may be visible to other users on public leaderboards. You can change your display name in settings.

Practice Partners: When connecting with practice partners, only your display name, level, and online status are shared.

6. Your Rights and Account Deletion

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Disable notifications at any time

How to Delete Your Account:

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly in the app by going to Settings > Danger Zone > Delete Account. This will immediately and permanently delete:

  • Your profile and account information
  • All learning progress and achievements
  • Your messages and partner connections
  • All data stored on our servers

Note: If you have an active subscription, you must also cancel it separately through your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions to stop future charges.

7. Children's Privacy

AUMA is designed for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date above.
